Abimbola Junaid (AJ) a returnee diasporan is a development practitioner, strategist, facilitator, negotiator and effective analyst in public and social policy. Her degrees are in English Arts, Marketing and a MA in Social Policy and Administration from the University of Nottingham United Kingdom, all of which drives her passion for Africa’s indigenous economies.

Consultant/Development Practitioner: Borrowing from her 12years active development career in the United Kingdom, Abimbola now advocates for Africa’s sustainable future plan through good governance, human capital growth and a diversified economic strategy, by harnessing  local/comparative advantage beyond oil dependency ie advancing the agricultural sector and other indigenous markets.

Abimbola is the CEO of Vast Opportunities Integrated Limited which consults, collaborates and executes for/with individuals, public and private sector organizations tailored made services towards these common goals. She identifies opportunities and conducts commercial research, organizes agricultural, entrepreneurial road shows, investment/economic summits, targeted particularly at local investors, direct foreign Investors and the African diasporas’ to provide them with updated sector related information to aid investment in the rising economy of Africa.

Abimbola also works with the socially excluded in the society, especially the future leaders of tomorrow, “the youth and women”, building their capacity to fight poverty through entrepreneurship training, business &skills acquisition, self development and mentoring. SPEAKER: She is also a passionate speaker who believes in the power of the spoken word as an effective tool to connect her listener’s lives to their purpose. She spends her time delivering fit for purpose talks on development at diverse public and private engagements across the globe.

AWARDS: In September 2011, Abimbola was one of 24, chosen from 700 applications on the Parliamentary Internship Shadowing scheme at the UK parliament, where she shadowed the deputy labor leader; shadow cabinet prime minister, shadow minister for media, culture and sports, Rt Hon Harriet Harman and on becoming a UK parliamentary ambassador at the end of the program, Abimbola’s new role involves, promoting good governance, citizens voice, leadership and gender mainstreaming at every opportunity.

She is also an ambassador for peace following an award in 2010 by the Universal Peace Federation a consultative office with the UN for her ongoing work in peace building & security.

In 2011, the Mass Communication Students of the Lagos State Polytechnic honored her with the “Leading leader Award group Lagos State and in 2012, she was awarded the “Role Model of the Year” by the IDEA group of Lagos State.
